iTrans DC Metro App Reviews

As others have mentioned, no matter how much I tweak it or play with my departure locations, the app tells me it cannot route me. For kicks I even tried putting in my sure-fire, use-it-everyday route from white flynt to judiciary square. Its an easy no brainer- get on the red line, which stops every 15 min, and then get off in judiciary squ. Somehow, the app couldnt manage to figure even a direct route though. Garbage. None of the scheduling or alert tools work at all, and I have never been able to get it to give me an advisory update.

When I got this app in July 2015 it was Awesome! For months now all its good for is just the map. It no longer loads train schedules or routing options. I have written to email support on numerous occasions and have not received a reply or an update to fix the bugs. Its a shame because this used to be my go to app :(

When I first started using this app several years ago it worked pretty well. However, for the past year or so, it has become almost useless for route planning and timely service alerts as described in other negative reviews. This seems especially strange to me, since I also regularly use iTrans NYC, and it works flawlessly.

Cant even search existing rail stations.

Im no longer able to get train information by tapping on a station symbol on the Metro map. :(

With iOS 10 will not show track info on train times. But will show track issues. Was useful till now.

Used to be able to check when my train was coming or how long itd take to reach my destination but now all the app does is glitch and tell me theres an error. Wont be using again

Ive been using this app for years and all of a sudden, it stopped working! Now it says that I have it in Subway Only Mode and when I try to take that off (despite not believing it was ever on), it says I need to try another mode and it basically just bounces me back and forth between different modes while still refusing to work. Im very disappointed because I really do think this was the best app for DC Metro, looks like Ill have to search elsewhere...

This app completely stopped working about a week, week and a half ago. I cant get it to help with any route, either bus or metro. Before that it was great.

Lets me see the metro map which is nice, but can never calculate my trip times or tell me when trains/buses are coming.

This app stopped working about a month ago. It was great before, and I was really hoping it would be fixed, but obviously its not going to be.

This app is horrible and there is no customer support!

Out-of-town visitor. Nice to have the graphic of the system, but repeated attempts to get times between stations consistently resulted in inability to provide info. Most recent: sitting right above Metro Center station requesting route/time enroute to Franconia-Springfield (last station on the Blue Line). App couldnt figure it out.

Not user friendly. Always an error when trying to plan travel time between stations. Buggy.

Ive tried to check from one station to another station so many times. But I couldnt do it anymore. It showed error all the time,even thought Ive changed time or dates. They should fix it!

I used to always depend on this app for planning any metro ride but it does not work now. It consistently says it "unable to route" and makes me change between subway only or bus only which both dont work. Please fix this so I can use it like I used to.

Clean interface, includes train schedules

I used to love this app, but the best feature no longer works. I cant route a trip. Every time I try, I get an "unable to route" error. Im still able to view the map and get service alerts, but I really need the routing feature to come back. Edited: I no longer get service alerts. Instead, I get a 404 Not Found error. This app is worthless.

Updated review June 2015: Wish the data feed from WMATA was more reliable. Still love this app! Want more features, such as a way to see my estimated arrival time at a station once Im on a train. Prior review: Nice clean design. Very useful app for commuting on the DC Metrorail system. Ive been able to skip over-crowded trains because the app tells me another train on the same line is coming soon. The app helped me on bad Metro days, sometimes more so than the signs or announcements in the station, or WMATAs email alerts. I wish there was a way to go back from the service alerts to the station you were last viewing, but thats a minor complaint. Overall a must-have app for anyone traveling by DC Metrorail.
